Who should speak to a clinician first

Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding; with diabetes or blood-sugar medication; with a history of eating disorders; with cardiac, kidney, or liver conditions; on medications that may be affected by fasting; underweight; under 18.

When to stop fasting

Persistent dizziness, fainting, chest pain, severe headache, confusion, irregular heartbeat, vomiting, or anything that feels wrong. Break the fast and seek medical attention.

Longer fasts and medical clearance

Fasts beyond 48 hours warrant prior clinician review, especially with any pre-existing condition or medication.

Refeeding caution

Long fasts require careful re-introduction of food. Refeeding syndrome is rare but serious. Follow structured guidance.

Emergency disclaimer

FastingPilot.com is not an emergency service. If you experience a medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.

Eating disorder caution

Fasting frameworks can be harmful for individuals with disordered eating. If this applies to you, please prioritize professional support over our platform.

Medication caution

Many medications interact with fasting (insulin, blood pressure, blood thinners, more). Do not adjust medication without your prescriber.
